Solved Ring Group Behavior When all extensions are in use

Hi Community,

Hope you guys are well. May I humbly ask for your thoughts regarding my question about Ring groups. Let's say I have two ring groups:

Ring Group 1 (2 members)
Ring Group 2 (2 members)

The flow of the ring groups will be looping together wherein Ring Group 1 Destination no answer will be forwarded to Ring Group 2 which has a destination no answer forwarded to Ring group 1.

My question now is, what will happen to an incoming call when everyone(4 extensions) are on a call?

Should keep cycling until an answer or hangup. I'd recommend a test and watch the activity log.

This will actually cause a call loop which will be detected by 3CX therefore resulting in call termination.

I'd recommend using a Call Queue instead.

@Gilroy - Yes, Good. And you can place the call in Call Queue waiting when all agents are busy around, and also you can play the prompt to the caller that our agents are busy at the moment like a call center.

Thank you guys for the responses, I really do appreciate them. We tried it ourselves and resulted in termination indeed as @ChrisC_3CX. This customer is yet to have an upgraded license so we are trying to check if there is a workaround. Thanks again for your help @Cal4care | RA @SweetAction @ChrisC_3CX

Hi,

yes there is always some trick you can use
simplest thing is to make group1 DNA (destination no anser) to an IVR. This IVR do nothing except forward to group2 after 1sec. This way its not a direct loop anymore. Its not clean but it should works

there is only one real solution, as said already before, replace the RG with one Queue
