Slightly old thread, but I want to add my voice to the necessity of this feature. I thought it needed mentioning because it is such an oversight that would literally ruin any chance of selling this product to any of our clients. The obvious scenario for me is a ring group that rings all extensions on an incoming external call. This is typical in small businesses where there is no receptionist.
The issue of "away" here is not one of someone actually being away from their desk, but someone who doesn't want to be disturbed by outside calls. ie. I'm in a meeting with someone at my desk and don't want my phone ringing whenever an external call comes in. "Do Not disturb" would be fine if it was represented in MyPhone and if the deskphones actually communicated their DND status to 3cx (rather than just setting it locally).
The point is, it makes no sense to have an extension ring if it is set to "away." There's a good reason the person setting this does not want calls coming through. If they come through anyway, you get a pissed-off worker. If that worker is an executive, it means endless grief for the support guy or the guy who recommended the phone system.
