Ring Group Help

Hello-

I am in the process of moving a customer of mine from FreePBX to 3CX. They have a somewhat unique ring group setup on FreePBX as of now.

Their desire is that when a call comes in to a specific DID, it should route to a ring group with 2-3 members and ring those members simultaneously for 20 seconds, then the call should route to an external cellphone for another 20 seconds, then route back to the internal voicemail of the location on the FreePBX system.

The way I am currently doing this in FreePBX is by nesting a ring group inside of a ring group and using a hunt strategy.

It appears you can't add a ring group as a ring group member with 3CX.

What would be the best way to accomplish what I am trying to do using 3CX?

Just a question, a call to the external cellphone for 20 seconds > should get picked up or error or cellphone voice mail. is the last condition ever met?

Hi, thanks for your reply! I'm not sure I understand your question however, but I think you're asking if the external cell phone voicemail ever picks up with the current set up on FreePBX. The answer is no, because in FreePBX, the external cell phone number is listed as a hunt member that is configured to ring for only 20 seconds, and then divert the call to the internal voicemail box of the location on the FreePBX system.

The cellphone doesn't have the opportunity to go to voicemail since it's only allowed to ring for 20 seconds.

I think I understand now.

for this to work you will need to make a fake extension lets say ext 400, no phone attached.

Ring group:
Ring group 20 seconds, if no answer (at bottom of ring group menu) ring extension 400

extension 400:
Forwarding rules tab:
if I do not answer calls with 20 seconds forward calls to:
voice mail of ext you want.

Options:
Ring my mobile simultaneously. (put cell number you want rang in general tab of extension.)



Call to ring group > 20 seconds > rings cell phone 20 seconds > voice mail of extension you want.




Other options:
3cx phone client on the cell phone in question.

Ring my mobile simultaneously on one of the extensions in the first place.
