I have an Inbound DID rule set on our main phone number's DID to route directly to our receptionist's extension. This works well. Ever inbound caller arrives there.

I want to route a specific person's cell phone CallerID to route directly to my extension (I am not the receptionist). I want this cell phone caller to bypass the receptionist and route directly to my desk. I created the CID Rule for this but the inbound caller in question still routes to the receptionist and not to my extension. I confirmed the CallerID number/format is I placed in the rule is how the number appears on my extension's screen.

When there are "competing" rules in the Inbound Rules area, does 3CX follow the DID rule first, then the CID rule? Or, could I be experiencing a different issue where I did something incorrectly?

The rules are followed in the order they are in Inbound Rules.

Rule of thumb is to put all CID rules ABOVE any DID rules, this way they are processed first.

Also, you can set the Caller ID to match to a wildcard start, like "*5551234567" and that allows it to match +1, 1555, 01555, etc.

Hi @Mike Shintani In addition to what @ConceptsWeb mentioned, please note that inbound CID rules can be added multiple times per sip trunk, in case you have other sip trunks and that person is calling to any of those trunks configured in your installation.

System will check the rules from top to bottom and the first match will be used.

Thanks all. Very helpful. Got everything to work.
