Router Phone SBC with FXS / DECT

I recently upgraded to 6 and set up a Yealink T57 as a router phone.

I am trying to add a FXS for a fax Grandstream HT802, Once added in the system the option of the T57 SBC does not show up on the drop down. However I do see it in the SIP trunk section as an SBC.

Can the Router phone SBC be used for FXS/DECT setup?

FXS or DECT devices cannot be provisioned on Router Phones.
In this case, you will need to use an SBC installed on Windows, Linux, or Raspberry Pi.

That is unfortunate...Is there anything prohibiting a manual configuration of the dect phones behind the router phone?
Is this something that will be resolved in the future, we have a client that is looking for this sort of installation at remote offices where they have two cordless dect and a desk phone eliminating a sbc would be a nice alternative?

Is there any plan for this? We have many deployments that use multiple phones and DECT devices. Typically we use W60B W70B and W56H handsets, one phone T57w and several handsets per site.

It would be great to avoid deploying a pi at each location, especially with the still large shortage of them.

It is possible to do both registrations with a DD10K, but this limits the amount of extensions in use to only 1 under somewhat supported config.

You can 100% manually configure a DECT phone to use a Router Phone as it's SBC without issues.

Or wait ~3 months as it's rumored* (briefly mentioned by Nick) that U7 will have DECT support in the UI for Router Phones. Nothing official, but I would bet on it.

I would auto-provision, then edit the phone and add in the SBC info, then do a reboot and check it retained it. If it didn't, remove the provisioning URL from the phone and add the SBC back in.

Looking to test this with an ATA, configuring a HT802. Wondering if a manual provision would work with the codec requirement.

The 802 supports a full SBC so I don't see any reason it wouldn't work with a RouterPhone.

I haven't had a chance to test yet, but my test router phone shows up as a gateway option in the drop down while configuring an HT801.

Just to throw another wrench into this thread, the T54, and I believe T57 can be turned into a DECT base station by adding on a DECT dongle, Anyone know if they can still do this if they are acting as a routerphone?

I have a few setups like this in STUN. I will be converting to a router phone at some point soon. Don't see this being an issue as the registrations are just additional accounts in the phone. Should work fine. Although you may want to remove the provisioning server to avoid any additional "unsupported" configs made locally on the device from being wiped.

This is an older thread now and contains outdated information.

DECT devices can now be provisioned behind router phones as of V18 Update 7 when added via the Webclient Admin.

FXS cannot be added from there, but for those of you that have MC access, you can add your FXS and select a Router Phone as the SBC.
