Router Phone

I am using v20 and am hooking up my first router phone [Fanvil V63] to a hosted 3CX system for the first time [I was using SBCs before for remote locations].

What is not clear to me in the instructions is if I need to select anything special to choose a router phone or if I just select the model and enter the SN for the user. Also for a router phone do I select DIRECT or choose the SBC that I already have set up [and then disconnect the SBC if I no longer need it?

The router phone needs to be the first phone added to a user. It’s a choice when adding the phone. Enter the MAC and it should self configure.

Thanks. For this particular user, they already have one phone on site where there is a SBC. This is a second site where there is not an SBC. I assume I just add it to the same user, but the phone is not showing up and registering.

This thread says the V63 and V65 are supported.

Try deleting the existing phone, add the router phone, and add the first one back again.

I deleted both of that users phones to start from scratch. When I add the router phone for off site use, the setup looks the same and on the 3CX phone interface, it shows up as a normal phone [not router phone]

I was able to add it as a router phone [I had to choose the direct option when adding which wasn't clear that that should be the correct choice]. On the 3CX interface, the phone shows up as a router phone but the phone is not picking up registration information.

Phone is running 2.12.16.19. 3CX link says Fanvil V phones use 2.12.16.20. When I download and try to update phone, says invalid file. I go to Fanvil site and latest version they list is 2.12.16.17. Weird.

The latest firmware version is 2.12.16.20
If the device does not accept it you need to contact Fanvil to clarify further. Note that it is important to ensure that the phone has the latest 3CX firmware.

Fanvil provided the latest firmware to me for the V63, 2.12.16.20 which they said works perfectly with 3CX. It updated the phone fine but it still will not auto provision. I am using V20 and select direct connection since it is a router phone [this is a 3CX hosted situation], but there is no option on the phone model pull down for V63, only V62, V64 and V65. I tried V65 and that does not help.

Does it register if you go into options and uncheck block remote non-tunnel connections?

Fanvil sent me a custom template to install the V63 but there is no option in V20 to add a custom template from what I can tell. Since It is supposed to be a supported phone [they state V63 and V65 are supported and the V65 template is up] I would think 3CX would be interested in installing this template in their database.
