Hi,

I would like to know what are the permissions required from the integration user account in order for the integration to work properly. Does it need admin permission or it can do with less?
Also, is anyone using the Salesforce Integration User license or a proper User license is required?

Hi,
Please read guide ; https://www.3cx.com/docs/salesforce-crm-integration/

Requirements:

  • Your Salesforce account must have REST API Enabled. Check here to see the Salesforce editions in which the API is available.
  • Salesforce accounts with Person Accounts enabled are not supported.

  1. The permissions are:
  • Access the identity URL service (id, profile, email, address, phone)
  • Access unique user identifiers (openid)
  • Full Access (full)
  • Manage user data via APIs (api)
  • Manage user data via Web browsers (web)
  • Perform requests at any time (refresh_token, offline_access)

Have nice day

Hi!
Thanks for the response. Our Salesforce account already has integration with another 3CX System, what I wanted to find out is what kind of license is required for the integration user. Salesforce recently introduced the Integration User license where it doesn't have GUI access and I wanted to know if anyone used this license with success.
Regarding permissions, the above are for the 3CX Connected App within SF, not the user. Our current integration is using an admin account but we wanted to see if we can create a permission set with only what is necessary.

Only the user that you configure in 3CX, and with which you do the authorization, will interact with Salesforce. All your other users are not affected by the integration with 3CX.

Hi @edossantos thats the user I am asking for. What kind of permissions are required in SF for this user? Does he need to be an admin or the integration can work with less permissions?

Use SalesForce v2 CRM integration on 3CX.
Use full-admin access to approval connection (One-Time get API Token)
.
Don't create a new Salesforce user; it's only for a one-time setup to link Salesforce and 3CX. Admin credentials aren't stored. This setup allows 3CX access to Salesforce API (Token), but 3CX won't use this user for future communications.

ℹ️ Can you confirm or correct me, please, @ConceptsWeb ?

More or less. Tokens are associated to the user who did the initial authorization, so if you delete the user, the tokens become invalid too.

No need to use an administrator. Just a user having access to read/create contacts, read leads, read accounts, read users, and create activities.

Thank you! this did the job. Salesforce now has a new type of license which is an API user and usually SF offers 5 some free licenses on each account and that means that in case you have a separated account for 3CX integration, there is no need for a full SF user license.
