Hi,

I'm installing a 3cx System that requires a remote extension, however their Broadband router is a BT Home Hub.

Is it possible to install an SBC behind this BT Router??

Thanks for any advice.

Regards,
Mike

I've no experience with BT Home Hub and it seem several versions exists, but if i guess it is a home router for DSL lines or fiber then for sure it will work with SBC

Thank you for the quick reply.

that answers my question.

I have a few sites with a BT Hub and they both use STUN. Though, had to prat about with forwarding so, I would continue as you are with the SBC.

As long as the BT hub has no restrictions on configuring port forwarding, then, as with any "normal" router, or modem/router combination, you should not have an issue. Issues tend to arise when ISPs "lock down" certain functions on devices they supply.

Thanks for the reply's I will use a SBC for the remote Extn

If it just a single extension, then an SBC may be overkill. There should be no issues using STUN, unless, perhaps, the BT hub also provides VoIP services and some ports are being used by that.
