Solved SBC controller setup - download preconfigured file

When I get to this stage during set up the installer fails saying that the installation Step failed

I think it’s trying to download something but may be blocked by our firewall

I can white list the SBC controller but I need to enter proxy settings and can’t see any way to do that during set up

Or I can whitelist whatever it’s trying to download however I don’t know what urls the setup needs for this process

Please can someone advise

To first gather a bit more information on this:

• Where are you trying to install the 3CX SBC is it on an md64 Debian machine or on a Raspberry Pi. Either way have you used the provided ISO files and followed the appropriate guide: https://www.3cx.com/docs/3cx-tunnel-session-border-controller/

• Have you made absolutely sure the 3CX SBC host has an internet connection and has a proper dns setup to allow ip address resolution?

• Can you provide a screenshot of the error you're getting?

Why do you suspect the firewall, do you have any specific restrictions that may be causing this such as outbound traffic restrictions?

Can you clarify why you would need to configure a proxy? Are you perhaps using an http proxy on this network?

I ended up finding out what the issue was

For those reading this in future please make sure you whitelist

security.debian.org

the SBC setup could not download the files from this site

Thank you for letting us know what was causing the issue!

Do bear in mind that we do not recommend restricting outbound traffic to maintain normal operations of the 3CX PBX so if you do have to implement such restrictions you'll be doing so at your own discretion.

In any case, glad to see you managed to get this sorted!
