Hello Everyone
First of all thanks for stopping by and looking into this.
I have a quick question . How do i find out how much RAM and how big CPU i need to configure SBC for one of my clients where i m going to have about 9 Voip Phones and give all of them each others BLF keys and also make 4 LINE keys and 1 speed dial key. So that makes total of 13 keys on each phone. Now that being said it is 117 keys total .Now that being said how do i chose the right hardware, I did install raspberry pi before but this time i m thinking to install a window machine .

i m reading it now and it only talk about the BLF keys so what about the LINE KEY and SHARED PARKING KEY and SPEED DIAL KEY etc...
 
And what if there are more than 100 (10 BLFs per device) ..........?
 
It's actually referring to all types of keys so you can consider those as well.

You would have to use more than one SBCs on the same site if you have more than 100 devices.

You would have to use more than one SBCs on the same site if you have more than 100 devices.
oh i see ....sorry i read that wrong ,it is saying DEVICES .....ok cool..

To clarify a bit, we generally recommend you take all types of BLF into consideration to be safe.

However, when it comes to resource requirements they are not equal though, as @ConceptsWeb correctly said, Line Keys or speed dials for instance do not add to the SBCs requirements as they do not require the IP Phone to subscribe to a service. Shared Parking keys and BLF keys on the other hand do. Strictly speaking you should only consider these two types of keys, so in your case, that would be 10 keys per phone exactly.

Wow thank you so much ...............this is awesome help Team 3cx and everyone ........ :) i didn't even mention this but i have two 3cx instances for this client under one roof because they have 2 different businessess and they want zero error so i ended up firing up 2 intances for them and i have installed 2 Yealink T48 U phones on each desk for them .so i guess that being said i should be fine with like i5 machines with 8GB RAM and 256 SSD s....?

Well that depends, how many extensions are configured on each instance? The link provided by @Saqqara should provide the necessary info for PBXs as well.

Would this Intel Celeron J4105 CPU 1.50GHz with 8GB RAM and 256SSD be enough for this client where i m going to have 10x Yealink T48U phones.? thanks
 
Hi,
from the experience of my installations I would say that the hardware you propose can be used with an SBC on Debian platform, even if a more performing hardware would be more suitable (see 3CX specifications).
However you can try, it only takes about ten minutes .....
 
As @ClaudioBassani said, strictly speaking, based on our Hardware Requirements the CPU may be lacking a bit. That said, I do not think that you'll have an issue with this specific machine only for 10 IP phones with 10 BLF keys each.

Do bear in mind that the Windows machine hosting the SBC should be dedicated to the 3CX SBC (no other software installed or running).

Also, if you do decide to use this machine, I would recommend that you consider installing Linux instead of Windows which will be much more efficient. You should use the 3CX ISO to deploy: https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/installing-debian-linux-pbx/

If for any reason you do face performance issues, you'd need to get your hands on a machine that complies with our hardware requirements and try again.

i do have another customer that has about 5 Fanvil x5Us and they have never complained anything ,they do have BLF keys for each other .Now that being said , i m thinking to drop the idea to install SBC because i made a mistake in the begining and forgot to quote the customer for the hardware and installations for it.Now that being said the only issue i might face is BLF keys and Shared Parking Keys ..? or would i might have issues with phones as whole as well ..?I was going to order the Rasberry Pi 4 but the prefered supplier by 3cx is out of stock for 8GB ones. :(

Are you talking about deploying the IP Phones without the 3CX SBC? If yes, it can be done but you would have to use STUN which might be a bit tricky to configure correctly. Since it seems that you might not have a choice other than using STUN, do at least make sure to deploy them correctly

yes i have deploying all my installs with STUN and i m sorry that i forgot to mention about that part.....yes there are 10+9 = 19 phones (10 under one instance and 9 under one instance hosted by 3cx ) under same roof sharing the same DSL internet connections ,right now its been about a week but customer hasn;t used the phones yet because they would be moving into unit next week so so far those phones are alive with TRIAL license and hopefully we are going to convert those to real licneses once customer is happy ...fingers crossed....and i m thinking to order this Raspberry Pi4 with 8GB RAM ,As per Canakit the ETA is FEB 28th. And i guess once i get these i ll deploy it than.

i read that KB and i have a quick question ...it says that forward each sip phones port ,so does that mean each phone will be get its own sip port like for example 5060 and 5061 ,5062 ,5063 .....etc ..?i think i should try this in a lab and play with this config but thank god so far my installs are small and its been ok ,no customer complained . :)
