On Professional 16.0.2.910 on Debian. My scheduled backups are not starting. They're not failing; I receive no errors...they just refuse to start. Manual backups start and complete with no error.

I've tried:
  • Switching backup locations (local, FTP, and Google Drive all fail to start)
  • Deleting and recreating schedule
  • Changing schedule time
  • Restarting server
Is there another log somewhere I can check? Any ideas?

is the time / date correct within Debian

Thanks. NTP was not installed. Will see tonight if it was a time issue. I forgot to check the time before installing.

Hi Matt,

Just type date in the Debian command line and see if it is in the correct time and timezone before you run the backup

Installing NTP and confirming proper date did not have any effect. Backup still did not start. No error reported as usual.

Hi Matt,

I would suggest the following:

1.) Check that all services are running and then the server time first before proceeding, to be sure.
2.) Change location to local (and ensure there is space available)
3.) Run a manual backup, and then download it to ensure it has data in it (system can write to disk OK)
4.) Schedule a backup to start in something like 3 mins from now, don't tick any options just a plain backup
5.) After 10 mins or so (and provided no backup appears) go to your logs, download Instance\3CXSystemService.log
6.) Search for entry Backup started around the time of the scheduled backup
