I've read a bunch of threads and feature wishes for the ability to add a secondary user button and / or being able to set the outbound caller ID on the fly. I agree that these are useful and often times required features.
My question for you 3cx resellers and implementation experts is - "What is your workaround ?" In particular for situations with more than 2 or 3 phones.
Do you provision all of the phones manually?
Do you just tell your customers 'it doesn't work.'
Background -
Sometimes a user needs to make outbound calls using different caller ID. For example:
A company has several associated companies and needs to make outbound calls representing each company
A tech support person has to make callbacks using the techsupport number, the rest of the time makes calls using their personal DID or main company number
Call center makes calls using a number local to the destination
On some platforms, a button can be placed on the phone or custom dial codes can be used to solve the above requests.
Since I am interested in offering this solution to my customers, I would like to know the best way to handle this request when it comes up.
Thanks.
