Hi there,

(how) is it possible, to send a different source-number internally?

I have an extension, which is member of a queue and i want to send the number of the queue instead of the "real" extension number.
I tried with the field "outbound caller id" in the extension properties without luck...

BR, Christian

Hi ,

if you put a number in "Outbound Caller ID", this will be the Caller ID for external calls of this extension. You should check two main points:

- The Provider: allows you to use this Caller ID?
- The Provider: From wich SIP Filed takes the Caller ID?. For instance, if the provider uses the "SIP From User ID" header to take the Caller ID, you will not see the Caller ID in the destination.

Check with the provider these two points and you can configure 3CX to place the correct Caller ID in the correct SIP Header for the provider.

Anyway there are other points that you can check, but I think that these 2 points are the most importants at the beginning.

Best Regards.

Hi,
thanks for the answer.
So there's no possibility to change the number, which is shown internally?

No i am afraid not

Damn.
I have call queue with ext. 2503 and ext. 2598 is logged into this queue.
How can i ensure, that noone (from internal) can call 2598 directly... this is my main goal.

You should be able to achieve this by creating an exception. Assuming you are on V15 navigate to extension 2598 >> Forwarding rules>> Exceptions and add all extension (you can create ranges e.g. 0000-5000 or 0000-1000,1001-5000) and set destination end call for all hours.
Make sure that your queue number is not included in that range.

This worked, thanks!

Glad we could help
