Send & Receive FAX

Good Morning Colleagues
I hope you are doing good . One of my customers has legacy fax machines that using protocol T.38 . He needs to send & receive faxes.

If i use 3CX connected to Patton SN4114/JS then connect fax machines to each port of Patton , Can fax machines be able to send & receive faxes ?

Does anyone test this scenario before ?

Hi,

this is a very common setup to archive this. Just ensure you use a sip trunk provider we support who has fax compatibility. Refer to you support page for more information.

Thx for your replay . We will not connect to any SIP Trunk provider . All patton FXS gateways (SN4114/JS) will be connected to 3CX and 3CX should handle the communication between them.

Is this applicable?

To be honest we have never tested this scenario but it will actually depend on the Patton if this will work or not. Assuming everything is local, the PBX will receive the Invite and establish the connection but will direct the 2 fax extensions to speak to each other (which is the same IP). I am pretty sure the Patton device will not have an issue handling this.
