Hello all,

I have a noob question. What i am trying to find out is, if i can set a group of extensions to follow an ivr instead of voicemail if an extension is busy or not answering.
The target extension already uses a voicemail for everyone however if extension 0001 and 0002 call and the line is busy to forward it to an ivr (Digital receptionist)

Is this possible? And how do i set this up.

Thank you in advance.

Yes.

Extensions > 0001/0002 (can even do botg at the same time with bulk edit) -> Forwarding Rules -> Send to Extension, then choose your IVR.

Set the same for internal and/or external calls, as needed.

Thank you for this however this i know. Maybe i wasn't very clear i can explain again. if i have 3 extensions where extension 0001 is the receiving extension and 0002 is the caller. If the extension 0001 is busy then it will forward to voicemail. However i want extension 0003 if it calls 0001 and it is busy instead of voicemail to forward it in to an ivr that is different than the voicemail.

You can try using exceptions but those might not wait for a busy signal.

You would probably need a CFD.

Why would 1 caller ID be sent to a IVR when calling an internal extension?

Because not all internal extensions are colleagues, Its a resort facility. Call flow apps?

No i want to avoid that exactly to release some traffic from front desk. I actually want to do that for extensions that lead to services such as room service, spa etc

Okay, I'm not sure I understand clearly.

what is the expected flow of the calls?

Hi ok it goes like this,
If colleagues call to each other and there is answer forward to voicemail. If rooms call to the services then forward to the ivr instead of the voicemail. Is that better?

Simply use a dummy extension to control the flow between rooms and the service. Then have the rooms dial that dummy extension instead. You can control the flow better this way.

If not, you'll indeed need a CFD.
