I am running a self hosted system v18.0. I have it setup with 1 Trunk to Twilio with 2 different Twillio numbers coming back in to the trunk. I have all inbound and outbound working and able to separate the different numbers coming in by Caller ID and going out using a prefix. My question that I need help on is this, when someone calls in on number 1 and I dont answer, I want it to go to a voicemail, when someone calls in on the second number I would like it to go to acompletly separate voicemail so I can distinguish between the 2. Is this possible and if so any instrcutions would be very appreciated.

Second question. I am coming from OpenPhone and in OpenPhone it has the option to automatically send a custom sms message to the caller if I dont answer the call and that gives them the option to respond back with an sms, can 3CX do this?

I am new to 3CX but trying to learn all that I can about it, any guidance and assistance would be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.

For the first question you can create an inbound rule for the second DID number and set call routing there. For instance a second ring group with a different no-answer destination.

Not that I am aware of, maybe using CFD app but I am not sure.

Thank you both for the reply, I am working on question 1 now, like I said I am very new to this system, but I understand the rules, so call comes in to second DID, routes to Ring Group, no answer send to voicemail. My question is this, do I need to cerate another extension for this? Right now I am the only user and it only shows my extension voicemail to go to and that would be the same as the default that I have now, if that is the case, how do I check another extension voicemail?

I would, that way you know what number was called

You can log in to the web client for the other extension, or dial 999 and just press # when it asks for your PIN.

As I recall ring groups can have voicemail but only email the message to group members.

I have to enter 9999 as I have 4 digit extensions, I can check my own voicemail but when I try another extension it tells me invalid pin. I am checking this from the PWA client. Do I have to do this another way?

Ok found a post that lead me to the correct location to check the messages so thats working, thank you all. I am still working on the second DID coming in and no answer going to voicemail.

On my second question, is this possible? OpenPhone has it built in and it is a nice feature, I have missed calls but still kept the buisness because they answered the automated text, then i had a text conversation with them. It is a very nice feature. I know some people say well how do you know if it is a cell, the answer is, you dont, it doesnt matter, if it isnt then it just gets undelivered. I am using Twilio for my SIP, so not sure if it can be automated there, just wanted to see if 3CX already has this built in and I am not seeing it or if it is not supported.

Natively 3CX doesn't have this feature. You could likely build it multiple ways though, but it would be a custom development.

SweetAction, can you send me some info on this or point me to any guides for this custom dev? It is so beneficial to our company I really hate to lose it if at all possible.

So you may wish to get in touch with someone like @VoIPTools who could write something like this.
OR, if you wish to do it yourself, I would hack it together something like:
1. Enable email on missed call
2. When email is received, have it call a webhook or similar (tools out there to monitor an inbox and do actions, we've used https://www.automatic-email-manager.com/ before, but whatever works)
3. That webhook executes a script. We'd proably use Power Automate here, but whatever works.
4. That script calls the twilio API and sends a SMS
This is likely way over-engineered, but most of this we already have in place for other stuff personally.

I don't think there's a way to use a CFD on a missed call, but I do wonder if you could have the callflow be like trunk->extension->cfd->voicemail where the extension doesn't go to voicemail but to a CFD instead, then the CFD executes the webhook and then transfers to the voicemail. That might save you the first 2 steps of the above flow, but I haven't tested this. And I think the CFD can just execute the API call directly to twilio, but haven't checked.

@ConceptsWeb might be someone to tap as well, as he has vast CFD experience.

I wanted to thank everyone for the guidance, I did finally get it working in CFD, not 100% as I wanted but still works for my needs, thank you again for leading me in the right direction.
