Set Default Codec Order

Good Day,

Is there any way to set the default codec order on extensions without going to each ext individually and clicking them into place? I tried editing four softphone ext at the same time and had no joy.

We have 320+ ext that I'd rather not do individually.

You may have to manually edit the template, after checking to see if the Codec order is included.

Hi leejor,

This is for a softphone not a handset. Unless I'm missing something, there is no softphone template.

So I don't think you can do anything for existing extension but maybe the codec priority section under PBX settings will affect new extensions? I'll try that right now

Good find. Settings / PBX would do it for hardphones, but I need to set the order for the softphones.

You can multi-select extensions to save time on configuration, under the extensions tab hit "ctrl" and click the extensions you want to configure the settings for.

This doesn't include every setting, so you will need to check if codec order is included.

Alternatively use and edit the extensions .CSV file.
