We return lead calls based on the location the lead comes from, so any kind of dynamic outbound callerID doesn't work for us. In the past we've used AirCall.io, Ringcental etc. and they just have a simple dropdown on the softphones that allow you to select your outbound callerID (http://prntscr.com/k2yc8i).

Is there anything that would allow us to do something similar, or a workaround for selecting an outbound callerID based on the contact we are trying to reach?

Is it possible maybe to assign a callerID to the line selection in the softphone? Is it possible to list more lines in the softphone?

I encourage you to take a look at our 3CX Caller ID add-on. This add-on makes it easy to do exactly as you described -- select the desired outbound caller ID from a list and then place your outbound call. Today it is a little web application (so there is nothing that needs to be installed on the Agent's computer) but we could also make a slide-out panel for 3CX Phone where they could do the same thing.

Yes, this is exactly what I needed. We use the mac softphone but we could also just use the webclient just the same. Is there a way to make this "slide out" work with one of these two things? What would be involved and the costs associated with doing so?

I don't know if a slide-out panel is possible on the MAC client. Frankly, to get this to work with the Windows client, we have to do some pretty tricky low-level windows API calls. 3CX doesn't have any APIs for manipulating the 3CX phone client interface. Let's discuss this off-line. Please feel free to email or call me directly.
