In the past, we've created "dummy" extensions which forward to SP1, SP2, etc. so that a user can dial the extension number to utilize shared parks from the mobile app. For example, 501 may forward to SP1, 502 to SP2, etc. This has worked well, but seems to have stopped working upon upgrade to v20. I've tried making the dummy extension a user in the department and assigning the receptionist role, but dialing the extension always results in a "not found" error.

What is going to be the recommended way to utilize shared parks from a mobile device in v20? I am familiar with parking orbits, and am not talking about that. Our users want to utilize shared parks.

Understood, once this is included in a future update you can always check our Blog and the Change log for more information.

Just got caught by this on our first v20 rollout. Ugh.

we've been caught with this as well, particularly annoying for clients who have been forced to upgrade to v20 only to find the functionality that they used to use constantly in V18 no longer works. Not a good look 3CX.

We have all v20 upgrades on hold until this gets fixed. I didn't see any indication that this has been fixed in update 2 - can anyone confirm this?

We are starting to see issues with this as well. We have been upgrading clients to v20 and found that DECT phones are not able to get calls from Shared Parking, although the 3CX mobile app can still type SP1 to get the calls.

+1 for getting this feature back.

+1 for getting this working sooner rather than later. I use this feature frequently for small office clients that want DECT cordless phones. With the forced upgrades to V20 on the very short horizon, this is a deal breaker for those clients.

Agreed, another +1 here for this feature to return, i.e. dummy extensions for each shared parking slots. This way DECT phone users can pickup calls in shared parking. Like others, we fell into this problem with our first migration and will be putting other migrations on hold until this is resolved. Be so grateful if this could be prioritised as we are keen to embrace V20.

Please bring this feature back. We rely heavily on this feature in our healthcare facilities.

We have a number of clients who rely on the dummy extensions for using SP and this feature being removed from v20 is causing us a lot of pain.

We've got clients relying on SP , huge misstep in v20 to remove this.

Have yet to test on iPhone but on Android I am able to pick up callers in SP by searching and typing SP# then hitting "Call SP#". However, I am not able to transfer callers to a shared park. How would we go about transferring callers from mobile app to a shared park?

Same idea...
  • tap Transfer
  • tap Transfer (not attended transfer)
  • type "sp4" or whatever number
  • tap "Call Sp4" (in blue)
The challenge is, there's not a way from the mobile app to know if SP7 is occupied.

I have an update on this issue, since there are 3 forum threads all discussing the same topic I've only added the detail to one of the threads with an aim of making that thread the 'master thread' for this discussion issue..

Not sure if a forum admin could make this thread (not the one above) read only to encourage all discussion reading this on the single main thread moving forwards?
