Hello,

how simultaneous calls counted?

per simultaneous calls:
in the system?
on the 1 VoIP number?
on the VoIP providers(all numbers)?

for example 8 simultaneous calls license.
Can I use 30 VoIP providers numbers?
Can I use 30 VoIP providers numbers if all 30 phones calls in 1 time to different extensions? etc...

Can you fully explain how it work?

Internal phone to external number = 1 call
External call to internal number = 1 call
Extension to extension = 1 call
Extension to voicemail = 1 call

Thanks KerryG,

For example:
I have 30 active connections to VoIP providers(wait for call).
Would all this connections be included in simultaneous calls?

Or only Active call to one of the VoIP provider or extension?

The Above plus you can have as many extensions as you want, as many providers as you want as long as there is a maximum of 8 calls going on at a time.

All that I need to know.

LeonidasG and KerryG thank you.

Also remember that when the DR transfers a call it is TWO calls for a short while...
(as per http://www.3cx.com/forums/what-is-a-simultaneous-call-8123-15.html#p41947)

This can especially throw people for a loop when using the demo key or when over "loading" a system.

Can't see - "You are not authorised to read this forum."

I am :P

A simultaneous call is a single call calculated "end-to-end".

So examples:

* A call from any entity to any other entity (extension, gateway line, provider line, DR, queue, whatever) is a SINGLE call.
* An inbound call over a gateway to an extension is a SINGLE call.
* An inbound call over a provider to an extension is a SINGLE call.
* An inbound call over a gateway/provider to a Queue is a SINGLE call - so if there are 5 people waiting in a queue, that's FIVE calls.
* An inbound call over a gateway/provider to a DR (while it is connected to the DR) is a SINGLE call. When the PBX needs to transfer this call to some other destination (user presses some option, for example), the PBX puts the call on hold, makes a SECOND call to the new destination - meaning that for now these are 2 calls. When the transfer is completed, the PBX effectively joins the two calls together into a SINGLE session, bring the license utilization back to a SINGLE call
* An inbound call over a provider, forwarded across a bridge, to reach an extension on the other side of the bridge, will be a SINGLE call for EACH PBX at each end of the bridge.

Hope this helps to clear things up.

Regards

Kevin

Final question.

VoIP provider "simultaneous calls" set to 5

What happens if the sixth incoming calls arrive?

That could depend on your provider. If 3Cx sends them a message that the call is being rejected then they could provide busy tone or perhaps a recording saying to try your call later. You'd have to try it out. I would think that if you are paying for six simultaneous calls to/from your VoIP provider, then that is the limit you will set in 3CX. Why would you set it for less?
