Hi,

We have just got a physical SIP trunk connection to our office. The connection provider is asking for the following details:
  1. Does 3cx Support SIP v2.0-( RFC 3261) ?
  2. Is Support for RFC 2833 ( DTMF) available in 3cx?
  3. Support for SIP Nat – as they provide /30 IP pool ( in which the IP PBX should be intelligent enough to understand two different IP Pools and communication , similar in Router )
  4. Router required if IP PBX /IP Dialer does not have intelligence viz – 2 WAN interface to do routing of calls ?
  5. SIP cards with port availability as per number of channels
  6. SIP licenses based on number concurrent calls /channels to be dialed out & in-coming calls
It will be great is someone can help me. Many thanks in advance.

Regards. Harshit.

Hi Harshit,

In answer to your question(s):

1) SIP is basically SIP version 2 (SIP v 2.0) so yes it does.
2) The answer is yes, but it is the endpoint must support this: https://www.3cx.com/blog/voip-howto/dtmf-rfc2833/
3) You need to explain this better - if you mean 2 IP pools on the LAN side absolutely (2 NIC card/sub nets) but not on the WAN. FYI 3CX requires Full cone NAT setup.
4) It does not have 2 WAN interface (it is a software PBX) so you will need a multi-WAN router.
5) I presume you mean for ISDN ? please specify, and if yes then there are supported Gateways for ISDN but only 1 supported card (from beroNet): https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/
6) Yes 3CX is based on concurrent/simultaneous calls.

I hope this helps.
