SIP Provider for home use.

Hi All,

Does anyone know a working sip provider for 3cx that I can use at home. Im not a business, this seems to be the problem, I cannot find a SIP provider for myself.

I was using sipgate on a voip client on my phone for a while but with the install of 3cx I want a decent sip trunk that works. Sipgate does not work sadly, whatever I try, Ive looked through all the forum posts, sipgate configs etc.

It registered once for about 20mins then dropped off.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

I sometimes use trials of free / cheap consumer / small business VOIP providers to validate test installs. I've had sipgate working in the past as well as yay.com and MacAce (I'm UK based).

3CX isn't really validated against these (or, really, any consumer grade VOIP providers) so expect to have to do some minor fiddling and use the generic template. Any support will likely need to be from the provider.

Yeah thats my problem, trying to find a SIP provider that doesn't require me being a business AND also is supported on 3CX. Ive been tinkering a while and it might be time to now contact sipgate and see what they say.

You can sign up to yay without being a business (even though they only have plans for business).

So ive signed up but cant get the sip trunk to register... Im using the username and password I created once I created my SIP trunk.

If you do a Google search for "residential VoIP providers UK", you will come up with a list of a number of sites specific to your region. Many offer a free (or low caost) trial, that will allow you an easy "out" if the service isn't quite what you want. Pick a few that look suitable, then look for reviews. The cheapest, isn't always the best deal.
