I am looking for recommendations for a SIP provider that has the most robust features for failover, redundancy and call forwarding in the event that we experience an outage on the SIP trunk. We are currently with Fusion. Our only recourse during an outage is to set one unreachable number. So if the trunk goes down all calls to any of our DID's are routed to a single number that we specify. Unfortunately we have many different DID's, so this option doesn't do us a lot of good.

Ideally, I would like to find a provider that gives us the option to do unreachable numbers on a per-DID basis. So if our trunks went down we could specify where we want failed calls to route for each DID.

For instance:

864-555-1234 is our collections department
864-555-4321 is our accounting department
864-555-9999 is our customer service department

If the SIP trunk goes down I would like to:

Forward 864-555-1234 to a DID on a different SIP trunk that also routes to our collections department
Forward 864-555-4321 to a DID on a different SIP trunk that also routes to our accounting department
Forward 864-555-9999 to a DID on a different SIP trunk that also routes to our customer service department

Does anyone know of a SIP provider that provides this kind of functionality? Or does anyone know of a SIP provider that has some other kind of failover/redundancy/forwarding options that might be of use in our situation?

Ive been going over this quite a bit myself recently and the short of it is that you should simply use 2 x standard Registration based SIP trunks (3CX Supported providers).

Some providers do offer their own redundancy packages, but this is provider side only.

IP authenticated SIP trunks for the most part with 3CX are only supported for single instance. And where you may be able to get this to work the provider or 3CX will not be able to offer support so best to stick within the realms of support from 3CX.

I won't claim to have the most robust features as far as failover, but we can do what you are asking for. Feel free to PM me if you are interested.
