Hi,

We have a problem with SIP Trunking. We have configured 3CX SIP Trunk to our Custom SIP Server. We are providing IVR/Voicemail services.

Our problem : if an extension configured like "if no answer forward it to XXXX" and XXXX our SIP Service Port via SIP Trunk. In this scenario we are gettting INVITE message but there is no diversion or history header. So we dont know forwared extension.

Example : 1002 calls 2101. Extension 2101 has a config redirect it to 6200 if user dont answer after 10 secs. (6200 forwards call to our SIP Service via Trunk.)

INVITE message we get:

INVITE sip:[email protected]:5060;transport=TCP SIP/2.0

Via: SIP/2.0/TCP 10.1.2.242:5060;branch=z9hG4bK-524287-1---44669632a913c045;rport

Max-Forwards: 70

Contact: <sip:[email protected]:5060;transport=TCP>

To: <sip:[email protected]:5060;transport=TCP>

From: "Mustafa Yamakzade"<sip:[email protected]:5060;transport=TCP>;tag=684fd128

Call-ID: zln3wBoj9Btl-lY_sBF9hw..

CSeq: 1 INVITE

Allow: INVITE, ACK, CANCEL, OPTIONS, BYE, REGISTER, SUBSCRIBE, NOTIFY, REFER, INFO, MESSAGE, UPDATE

Content-Type: application/sdp

As you see there is “Diversion” header. If there is no Diversion header there should be a way we can get forwarded extension when user no answer.
Can you please help me ?

Regards.

Please note that 3CX does not support the diversion or History header. Also its not really advisable to send internal extension numbers through a trunk.
This is a feature request and it belongs to the Ideas section.

Hi Yiannish,

Thanks for the update. If there is no Diversion header, how can we get forwarded extension like above example? We tried everything on Inbound/Outbound parameters.

You cannot send an internal extension number through a trunk. Its a security risk and we actively do not allow it.

But we are sending internal number if we set the phone on DND status ? What is the difference ?

Have you considered trying a 3CX Bridge trunk. Can't guarantee that the results would be different, but the call should be considered "internal", and may do what you want. Bridge trunks are no longer supported to something other than another 3CX PBX, something to keep in mind.

Bridge didnt work. I dont understand why it is a security risk. It is basic SIP communication also i can get forwarded extension if i put the phone DND. But if i put phone No Aswer - Forward status i cant, i only get callig extension not forwarded extension. Please guys i need help.

I'm not certain it will work the way you want it to. If you consider call forwarding, as used on your home phone...at the final destination, you would receive the originators caller ID, not the caller Id of the line that has forwarding enabled. That is because it is the number of the person placing the call you will be talking to, and is therefor considered more important, than the number of the phone doing the forwarding.
I know that is no consolation, and someone else may have a solution, but, you may have to settle with making the set DND if that gives you the "correct" number.

Hi Leejor,

Thanks for your commets. But we are offering VoiceMail services for Hotels. If a hotel stuff calls guest A and if guest dont answer , stuff want to send a voicemail. Since we can not get guest number from SIP messages we can not place voicemail to guest's voicemailbox ? And we can not say to guests put your phone to DND if you are not using it :)
