I have added the PSTN Gateway of GrandSteam GXW-4104. I am using this VoIP-gateways/grand stream link to set up all the details.
I believe all the details entered are correct, yet the icon in the SIP account list shows a Red icon.
Looking to find out where I get error information to know what the problem connecting is.
Thanks for any tips.

Hello,

That will stay red until the gateway registers to 3CX. So probably the gateway is not connecting to your system right now.

Please read this and share some more information about your system so we can understand your setup first:
https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/information-to-provide-when-requesting-help.6755
  1. server: Debian 10 buster
  2. On-premises hosted in AWS
  3. Firmware version: 1.4.1.5
  4. VoIP Gateway: Grandstream GXW-4104
  5. Firewall checker passed: Yes
  6. custom phone templates being used: No
In Activity logs, I get this log
03/08/2022 12:23:30 PM - Malformed SIP request received: BadSip Recv Req REGISTER from 51.158.47.138:5068 tid=-1621381869 Call-ID=589113239650342752824615:
03/08/2022 12:23:00 PM - [EC100009]: External application [ip-prv/PbxConfigTool] is disconnected:

I would appreciate giving any hint.
Thank you

Supported Model: Grandstream GXW4104 FXO

After you familiarize yourself with the basic concept of SIP Trunks (https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/sip-trunks/) proceed to add a PSTN gateway to your PBX. The template is designed to work with the GXW4104 model only.

Notes:

  • The device must be local to 3CX, in the same subnet and/or locally routed subnet (including site to site VPN)

As your 3CX is hosted in the cloud, it is not on the same local network as your 3CX server

Someone may have a way of getting it to work using a SBC server

Your system is not on premises, it's hosted in the cloud. You cannot use the gateway in this scenario.

Can I set up AWS VPN. will it work?

Hello,

Yes if you set it up in such a way that the Grandstream thinks its on the same local network, we expect it to work.

We cannot provide you with any assistance on this however, and generally do not recommend to run a VPN on the same machine as 3CX since this can break your system if not implemented properly.

The best solution would be to either transfer your lines to SIP instead of analog, and if this is not possible, move to a local PBX instead of a cloud PBX.
