SIP trunk on BLF keys

Hello,

I am having some difficulty setting up sip trunks as I am having to assign prefix 1,2,3,4 to make outgoing call.
I remember I can setup SIP # as BLF- so whenever I press it then it would give me a dial tone to enter number.

Currently I am using grandstream 4 port fxo gateway and all settings are configured successfully with 3cx. I have setup inbound/outbound rules but I need that telephone line on BLF to get dial tone.

Some users are very picky and want that feature which was present on Panasonic analogue PABX.

Why do you need to assign prefixes?

Because, no, you cannot put a sip trunk or a "line" on the BLFs. Only the calls, BLFs, call parks and speed dials.

The dial tone should be provided by the PBX and not the provider directly.

Yes but you don't have to tell which line to pick. The PBX/Gateway should decide where to send the calls automatically.

While some PSTN gateways (some Grandstream models?) allow 3CX to select each line, with the use of a prefix (specific prefix used by the gateway, and set in the outbound rules, not one you necessarily dial), most multi-line gateways will select the outgoing line for you (next idle). The only way around that is to create an individual trunk, for each PSTN line, in both 3CX and in the gateway.
