Hi folks,

I have a 3CX PBX setup and a SIP trunk with 8 numbers, I managed to set the DID for several extension but, I want as well that CID for a specifi extension to be the same as the DID, even if set the CID the same as the DID it always go outside with the default SIP trunk number, is there a way to change this behaviour?

PS: if I set the number in Extensions -> Ext number -> General -> Outbound Caller ID I get a bussy tone

Thanks,
Dan

You might want to check the Activity log or verbose log this behaviour and see why your outbound calls are behaving like this: https://www.3cx.com/docs/collecting-logs-for-3cx-support/

It sounds to me like the outbound rule is setup incorrectly or you have another rule prioritized that is taking over so review the slides if the logging provides nothing conclusive: https://www.3cx.com/3cxacademy/videos/advanced/configuring-outbound-routing/

so the SIP provider told me to look for P-ASSERTED-Identity and change that accodingly? any hints on this?

Hello @Dan Nica

I would recommend using a supported provider to avoid guessing work and manual configuration of outbound parameters that might cause your calls to stop working. https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/
Each provider requires the trunk to be configured differently and numbers sent in a different outbound parameter. Based on the provided information your provider probably needs the caller ID presented in the P-Asserted-Identity field or possibly (but less likely) want the main trunk presented there and the DID presented in the From SIP field.
Navigate to your sip trunk and edit it. Then navigate to Outbound parameters and set the P-Asserted-Identity as the screenshot below. Take note of the original settings in case this does not work so you can revert back.
