Hi All,

Just a post to say SKY in the UK have added 3cx.co.uk to there Broadband Shield product !

This stops phones connecting and also doesn't allow to webclients etc

If you disable to the Shield Product or whitelist your domain it will work again

Regards,

Luke

We are are experiencing issues with Sky, where 3cx fqdn does not have the correct IP address when using sky dns servers.

When you do check using google, everything is fine.

I see , looks like sky have had a recent update and for some reason blacklisted 3cx.co.uk.

I think until SKY whitelist at the very top it wont resolve fully resolve using there servers.

We currently have a bunch of users who are down, im guessing the sheild product is on thier home router? I only ask as some home users with Sky are not experiencing the issue?!

correct some users may be fine is the Shield product is not on , its only if it is on , also someone else mentioned if they using sky DNS it will do the same thing.

Yep, this has killed 3CX at home for at least a dozen of my customers (that have reported the issue so far). So is it a case of getting them to disable the shield product on their accounts? We can drop mobile handsets to the data connection, but that won't help the Chrome Plugin.

Surely Sky can remove this then?

Hi David, correct if they open up a webpage on chrome etc and type 3cx.co.uk it will come up and say it has been blocked and click here to change the settings.

How to turn off Sky Broadband Shield? We recommend changing your age rating to 18 - you can access sites suitable for adults but you're still protected from malware-infected or phishing websites. Although we don’t recommend it, if you still want to switch Sky Broadband Shield off: Sign in to broadbandshield.sky.com with your Sky iD. Scroll down and select Switch off. It may take around 15 minutes to be able to view previously blocked websites.

Yes we have plenty of users this morning calling in, it appears to force the DNS resolution to their WebShield server rather than the actual IP by white listing 3cx.co.uk immediatly everything comes back to life. Also have one user on Talk Talk having the same issues so not sure if this is related yet

Now how many customers working from home do not know there sky username and password !! It is going to be one of those days, stay safe

Many thanks for that - I was just wondering if that would be the case - changing to he 18+ setting to allow access as opposed to removing Shield altogether.

The real problem is assuming that my end users will know their sky login details - hahaha

i know going to be be one of those days! i have asked 3CX to see if they can contact sky Directly from the top to solve this. It needs a global whitelist ASAP really to sort.

Haha :) yep, this is just the latest one in a long line, since lockdown...

Yes just hit this problem as well, quite a few users at home with Sky Broadband all lost connectivity just now. I have had to talk those who can remember their SkyID through adding 3cx.co.uk as an exception in their Sky Shield.

Hi all,

Do we have any confirmation that someone from 3CX has contacted Sky? Or has anyone posting here contacted Sky? I've spent a good few minutes on Sky's website and can't even find a way to contact them by phone or mail.
