Apologies if this is being posted in the wrong category. We've been using Skytel as our preferred SIP trunk provider for some time now and have it working well in some of our active customer setups. We went to go set up a new 3CX hosted instance for a customer and Skyetel is no longer available in the SIP trunk drop down menu. Upon checking the supported SIP trunks page, 3CX has removed support for Skyetel on hosted instannces: https://www.3cx.com/partners/sip-trunks/canada/.

When did this change and what sparked this change? This is impacting our ability to set up new customers with this tested and working solution that was supported up until very recently.

@dl-mjamaly please note that from 3CX point of view we did not remove support for the Provider, it was always not supported for the 3CX Hosted Instances.
This mainly depends on how the Provider accepts requests from the PBX. Please check Knowledgebase link below.
Now on V18 you can see only the tested and full supported by 3CX Hosted Providers in order all your services to run smooth and avoid any complications and issues.
If the Provider speaks with out Interop Team and they remove restrictions, then we will be more than happy to make them full supported on 3CX Hosting infrastructure.

Hi There

A quick note from us :)

We are working with 3CX to be part of their hosted solution and should be back very soon.

Skyetel’s 3CX config uses IP Authentication instead of SIP Registration which isn’t supported by 3CX Hosted. We are preparing an updated template that uses SIP Registration instead.

3CX is waiting on us to finalize this template - so blame Skyetel (not 3CX) for the delay. The team member who works with 3CX’s Interop team is on vacation and will be back next week to finalize the templates.

Thanks all for the responses here and appreciate both Skyetel and 3CX being active in this forum. Is there any way to set up 3CX hosted using v16 or will all 3CX hosted instances run V18 going forward?

There's nothing stopping you from making a Skyetel trunk manually in the interim. If you have existing setups you can reference the trunk settings from there.

Or export the provider from another system and import it there.

It should work even via IP Based as long as the instance isn't moved. Which shouldn't happen unless there's an issue with the hosting provider. Then, when the template is updated, they can switch to that one or simply switch the auth type.

To my knowledge you can't add unsupported SIP trunks to 3CX hosted solutions. Only on-premise or self hosted/private cloud.
