Given that PBXen probably don't like talking together much, this may well be impractical. Please let me know.
I currently have a hotel running on a fairly new Samsung Officeserv 7200 PBX. It has about 55 analog extensions and 3 digital, connecting to a SIP trunk for inbound/outbound calls. I don't have the cash to replace this all at once, but want to set up a migration pathway.
I will keep the Samsung PBX as the main gateway as it is set up like that already. I want to somehow slave a new 3CX PBX to the Samsung and have it handle just the extensions that we have migrated from analog to a new SIP handset. Obviously some config is needed so that each PBX knows where to find the extensions.
I will then slowly migrate the old analog handsets that fail or need replacing (or as I have cash) across to the SIP handsets and add them to the 3CX PBX. At some stage a number of years in the future we will finish it off by migrating everything else and getting rid of the Samsung. The cost of programming for changing each extension I expect to be NIL after the first one, as it should be something that I can handle myself once I'm shown what to do.
If already answered, or there is already information about this online, please point me in that direction. I haven't found it in my searches.
