Hi,

I've updated my self-hosted 3CX Pro v18 to Update 5 and am working on re-configuring my Telnyx SMS.

I got the Telnyx API key added to the SIP Trunks > SMS tab and I updated Telnyx with the new 3CX webhook.

The next step in the instructions is to set up (or in my case, migrate) the Routing. On a Dedicated install, it says, "If your SIP Trunk has a single number, navigate to the General tab, scroll to Route to and use the drop-down options to route your SMS messages to an individual user, group, or queue." However all I see in that section is "Destination for calls during office hours" and "Destination for calls outside office hours," i.e. the voice call routing:

Where is the setting for SMS routing (for which I set up a separate queue)? The old definition under Messaging > Facebook & SMS is still there, but it has no effect:

My daytime inbound route for voice calls is to a ring group, and inbound SMS is now forwarding to that ring group. But what if I used an IVR? Where would the SMS go then? ("Messages cannot be configured to route to a digital receptionist" per the instructions.)

Regards,

I can't find it either. As you said, the old routes are there but there's no way to configure them once you delete the old SMS configuration. I've had no issue migrating to the new configuration where the PBX has a single messaging enable DID. I can't move my other PBXs to the new config since there's no way to setup/edit the routing.

I didn't notice that there is a separate forum for SMS. Some relevant threads and quotes from 3CX:

"You will have to find a different way, now SMS and number can not have separate routes. This was already indicated in earlier posts."

"Note also that sms and calls should use dedicated numbers."
https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/sms-inbound-routing-v18-update-5.116467/post-539579

"Currently if you want to route your SMS and calls to different destinations you will need separate numbers to do so. Cannot say if this will change or not in the future."

My use case, and an important selling point for the Pro version of 3CX, is that increasingly, people just assume that every number can receive SMS, so you definitely DO want your main number to be able to receive SMS. To make this incompatible with using an IVR on the main number seems counter-intuitive.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions; currently, as already mentioned, there are no options available to route to different destinations (SMS and voice) with a single DID. To route to multiple destinations requires different DIDs.
