We had SMS working with Twilio. Didn't update server to release 6 because I was confused by the instructions on exactly what needed to be done.

Past couple of days, SMS just stopped working. (No updates to server, no updates to clients, no changes to Twilio from company end.)

I figured, "Here goes..." and updated to release 6.

Now in the webclient and also the desktop app, there is no way to *send* an SMS. If I click the Chat option and try to start a new chat by typing in a +1aaabbbcccc number, I can't hit enter or proceed in any way.

I did figure out that if I set an Inbound CID Rule and update the webhook setting, an extension can RECEIVE an SMS, but there is no way to reply to it.

Someone in another thread posted about a 40-step process to do SMS.

I'm simply trying to find out *how* do I do this. The docs I've seen talk about setting up a SIP trunk, but they don't do voice with Twilio, just SMS. Do I really have to set up a separate SIP trunk for each of these SMS numbers? Is that the solution? The client has multiple SMS numbers.

Again, I put this off because it was confusing last Fall. Still confused. Thanks for any help.

Thank you, Nick. I found that linked in another forum thread after posting this one while I continued to find info and spent all evening and late night working on it. The functionality is working for the Desktop App (I installed the latest version) and is working for the webclient for someone I had test it. One other user's webclient for unknown reasons does not allow entering a phone number and hitting enter or continuing to the phase of entering a chat message. That may be a one-off, and later today we'll probably reboot that machine and test again.

I would like to personally commend Katerina Kastritou for that blog article, as it was written clearly enough that I no longer felt confused as to what I needed to do. Her short notes on "how it used to work and why we changed it" was helpful for me, too. I had planned to follow up this morning with that article for anyone else having an issue.

Thanks for the heads up i will let her know :)
