SNOM D785N dimming issue

I have a requirement for lowering the brightness level on a particular SNOM D785N ext\handset because if it's location in a private bedroom.
Normally I would attempt this by using a custom template, but this is a hosted (by 3CX) instance and custom templates are not available. I have tried setting the brightness in the phone, but this only last a short time until the phone reprovisions for whatever reason and then the default brightness level is applied. Asking the client to continually lower the brightness level manually is not an option in this case, anyone have any 'bright' ideas?
