SNOM M700 - Firmware Upgrade

Good afternoon all.

We have 5 SNOM M700 units at our sister office down in London. These are running firmware version IPDECT/04.00/B0002.

We've recently been unable to (re)register new/current DECT. I have stumbled across this today - https://service.snom.com/display/wi...base+to+400B02+my+M65+cannot+register+anymore .

We'd like therefore to upgrade the firmware on the M700 units. However, we'd like to test this first on another M700 unit we have at our head office - this is running IPDECT/03.24/B0012. When I go to the Firmware Update section on the web interface, it looks different to the one of the other M700 units (which look like the screenshot on https://service.snom.com/display/wiki/How+to+update+M300,M700,M900+DECT+Base+Station ). I've attached what the test M700 screen looks like.

Could somebody please advise what I need to enter on this screen to update it to the same version as the other 5 M700 units, so that I can test the next update? Which I assume is going to be version 410, branch 14 as per https://service.snom.com/display/wiki/BSV410B14+(base)+HSV410B11+(handset)+-+Official+Release

You are on version 324, you cannot upgrade to 400

Follow this guide to get it too 400 and then you can get to 410

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: Direct upgrading from version 324BXX to 400BXX is not possible, you have to update first to the version 355B25 and then to the version 400 to facilitate customers in this task we prepared an auto-update script at this address: http://dect.snom.com/324-to-400/auto-update.php , please follow the reported instructions.

Thank you so much! I now have updated the single M700 unit up to 04.00/B0002, to match the others. I noted that when I updated from 355 to 400, it ask if it was OK to update "all" base stations. This I was comfortable with, as the update wasn't required on the 5 base stations at our London office.

If I now go to update the firmware on a single base station to 410 - B14, will they attempt to update them all (all 6 of them)? I have no problem if it does do them all, but I will just need to plan when to do this.

So unless you have the MM700 base stations (the first M stands for magic) I'm pretty sure it's not going to reach all the way to London . Seriously though, the M700 is a multi-radio setup so it will update all base stations in the multi-cell setup. This is because for the roaming and all that goodness to work well, all base stations need to be on the same firmware. If you don't have multi-cell setup then it will only update that particular base station.

The 5 base staions in London are set up within mutlicell, however this is disabled on the solitary one.

I will update the solitary one first, then plan to do the multi-cell systems when I am on site next week (as well as the handsets)!

Be carefull with m700 upgrade, as 3 cx info on latest firmware supported for m700 is not explicit, we tested latests firmware version and even if everything looked fine at first, we found that emergency number didnt work then we go back to 400.
