SNOM M900 configured with M700 template, can this be migrated to M900 template?

Hello all,

when the M900 was new and 3CX had no M900 template I set up a M900 Multicell cluster using the M700 template.

Now for update 5 the M700 is EOL. Is there a way I can get it to use the M900 template without having to reconfigure every DECT line in 3CX?

Do I even have to change the template or will it continue to work a long as I am running a firmware with TLS 1.2 capability?

Any suggestions appreciated.

There is no firmware with the correct TLS capability. Snom stopped providing updates for that so I'm afraid that trying to add it as a M900 will not change anything. It will still fail to provision.

If you already had one running it will continue as is, but will no longer be able to provision via 3CX.

If you want to add a new one, you can do so but only as LAN (no SBC or STUN).

thanks for the reply, but I have M900s and want to know what I have to do so that I can continue to provision them.

They were set up with a M700 template because 3CX had no M900 template when we bought them.

Apologies, I must have misunderstood your post.

Unfortunately no, there's nothing that can be done here other than doing it from scratch.

You will need to delete the old FXS/DECT entries, make fresh new ones as M900, add all your extensions, and then factory reset and reprovision the bases.

It might be a good opportunity to also upgrade the bases to the latest V5.30 B7 firmware, and ensure that there are no incompatibilities going forward, leftovers from the M700 template.

Make sure you review Snom's notes before you upgrade them, there may be things you need to be aware of.

guess I have some work to do then.

As a sidenote, until a few weeks ago I was tagged as premier customer, now it says Free User. Is there any way I can link my forum account with my main account where our licenses are?

I believe there was a way before the latest portal changes.

I guess the current account you are logging in with no longer has paid keys attached to it.
That's where the tag comes from.

I'm not 100% on this one though, so you might want to hit up our customer support via chat and see if it can be done.
