I have a Snom PA1 device and it is setup and can do intercom features alright. I know I can connect a music device to play music through the speakers connected to the Snom, but is it possible for me to have the users dial a code on their phones and have the music play through their phone speakers? I would also like the music to pause when a call comes in or is made and resume when the receiver is hung up again.

I am not talking about music on hold. We have that setup already.

The short answer is "no". This is not supported natively by 3CX.

A more detailed answer...

The first question is how do you get the audio stream into 3CX? You could copy a large static wav file and play that, but streaming live audio (for example, connecting an audio player) is not possible.

The second challenge is... in order to play anything through the speaker of your phone, you would need to place a call to that phone. Maybe you could do this through a paging group and intercom to the phone, but you are tying up your phones to do this. Even if you could find a way to do it, I do not think it is a good idea.

Alternatively, MAYBE it is possible to stream audio directly to the phones separately from 3CX. That would require research into the capabilities of your specific phones.
