Hi 3CX community.

Recently I moved our PBX to a new hosting platform to which we have no layer 2 connectivity.
The has a private IP address of [Private_Address], which is NAT’d 1:1 with the public address [Public_Address].
So nothing can actually get to [Private_Address] except for the PBX itself.

For some reason, our softphones keep reprovisioning using [Internal_Address] for “in the office”, and [Public_DNSName] (which resolves to [Public_Address] as “out of the office”.
If I manually change “in the office” to pbx.calvert.net.au, it works, but only until the softphone decides to reprovision periodically.

I hope someone knows if there’s some way to change the internal address to be the same as the external in the phone system so it doesn’t keep trying to use that internal address for things?

Cheers

Check your network settings and also 3CX client provisioning. If private IP is selected, it will cause problems.

Check the 'Network interface for registration and provisioning' settings for 3CX client, should be fqdn

if you change the setting to use FQDN then you need to reprovision the devices

Hello @luke.davis

You can alter the network interface as @Saqqara suggested but even if you don't you should not face any issues. Since the clients are remote they will use the out of office address to connect to the PBX.
