Hello

I am a new user of 3cx Phone System.
I have tried with Asterisk and I have to admit that 3cx is worlds apart when it comes to ease of use and configuration.
I have setup everything and almost everything is working as I want.

My setup:
11 VoIP Cisco SPA502G phones
One VoIP provider with 7 numbers.

My problem:
When I dial out, the person I am calling sees an extra leading zero in front of my number.
If the line I dial out is 021.111.22.33.44 the called party will see the number as 0021.111.22.33.44
The call gets through and everything is in order.
The problem is when someone tries to call back the same number 0021.111.22.33.44
Because 0021 is not an acceptable local prefix, the call will fail. Should be 021 not 0021

I have looked over all settings and found nothing that can fix this.
Anyone stumbled upon this problem and was able to fix it?

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

you can check with wireshark in which format you are sending you caller id to your provider, if it is good I would contact them to see what is happening. And how the provider can forward the calls to outside with non existing local prefix at all, in this case 0021...

Is this happening to more than one person? I know that some devices can be programmed to insert a digit or two when displaying caller ID, to make redial work properly.

You may want to make mention of that particular VoIP provider involved, someone else may have some experience with them.

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

This is happening when I dial out from all extensions, all phones.
I have setup a 3CX software Phone for Android on my Samsung Galaxy and when I dial out it is the same situation.
I first thought it is a setting from my Cisco phones, but it seems every SIP client does the same.
No matter what DID or masks I set, the dreaded zero appears :)

The VoIP provider is from Romania, http://www.adnettelecom.ro
Their support is top notch as far as I can tell. Always polite and willing to help.
But in this problem, they are telling me that it must be a setting from my PBX, a setting I have yet to discover :(

You can provide us an outbound rules you have, maybe there is some misconfiguration

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

Hi,

In order to isolate the issue, you can register another VoIP provider free account on your PBX and one on a PC with 3CX Phone and make a call between them. See how the caller ID is sent. If it's correct than contact your VoIP provider.

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

There is a section, in 3CX, called Reformat Outbound Caller ID, you may want to be sure that the options in there are not selected.

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

leejor, I have checked and and none of the Reformat options are enabled.

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

I would confirm, as mentioned earlier, exactly what Caller Id is being sent, to your provider.

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

From what i can tell from logs, the PBX is sending the correct number.

From: "021.111.22.33.44<sip:1234567*[email protected]:5060>;tag=8543bb53

Or the line "From" is picking up the number setup in the VoIP Provider configuration, without really checking what is being sent out?

it seems that your side is good, on your place i would sent that log to voip provider to check who is adding that extra "0"

Re: Extra leading zero(0) in front of outbound DID

Problem solved.
It is from our VoIP provider 100%.
How can I be so sure? :)
I called my provider's support line.
For some reason the person said he will call me back on my mobile in a couple of minutes.
He did.
My biggest surprise: their Caller ID was also showing an extra 0 in front of the number.
And all this after several days of being told I am doing something wrong with the 3CX PBX.

Thank you, all those who tried to help.

All the best.
