We are setting up a 2 extension small remote office and we would like to make sure that QOS is properly configured on our routers for communication back to the mother-ship. We have Sonicwall NSA 240 at the head-end where our 3CX box is located. At the remote end we have a Sonicwall TZ105. The two offices are connected through VPN and we are able to make calls, however, sometimes there is too much jitter and we would like to make sure we are doing everything we can to ensure QOS.
We know that QOS over the public net is basically not going to work, but we want to make sure that at each end our routers are properly prioritizing our voice traffic as it is received. In addition, we are utilizing an SHDSL connection with a local CLEC. We know that latency can be a huge issue, but this particular CLEC is outstanding with regard to network latency and reliability. With that said, we have our phones setup to broadcast a DSCP value of 46 and we have the 3CX machine setup the same.
Reading through the Sonicwall manuals is not very helpful in making sure we have proper expedited forwarding of the voice packets.
We are wondering if anyone has had success with setting up QOS on the Sonciwalls through VPN and how they went about doing it.
Thank you in advance.
