SPA112 Fax

I currently have a SPA112 setup as an extension and attached to a fax machine. I am able to send faxes just fine.. but not able to receive well really print the faxes. The printer does answer the fax call and acts like it is receiving it but doesn't print anything. Hopefully someone can help me fix it if able? I can't see it being much but I don't know...... please help!

Where is the FAX machine and gateway in relation to 3CX. FAX is only supported within the local LAN or routed subnet (such as across a VPN).

As always I would suggest a recommended/supported gateway such as a Patton 4112 JS.

3CX is cloud. Fax is local. I am able to send just fine which the fax does receive but when i send a fax to it.. it receives but doesn't print.

The ATA must be set as a 3CX Fax extension. As i recall, that can't happen unless it is on the local LAN, unless you are using VPN with the remote location. I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Definitely won't work if you are using this to a cloud system, there should be an error in the Activity log which will back this up. See my comments above - local LAN or VPN only.

No you are right as the fax extension doesn't give you the option to disallow outside lan like normal extensions do.

Yes have your FAX DID set to "Send FAX to" and select an extension with a configured email address. The system will receive the FAX convert it to PDF and send it to the email of the extension

I am assuming that since you have a FAX machine you have a number (DID) pointing directly through an Inbound rule to the FAX extension you have setup.
You need to change the Inbound rule to point to an extension with a valid email address to which you want your faxes sent or point it directly to the FAX server extension and configure an email there.
So if a FAX comes in the inbuilt FAX server will answer the call, receive the FAX and sent it as email to the configured email address.

Your provider must support Faxing for this to work obviously and you need to have a working SMTP server to be able to send the PDF's to the desired email address.
