Hi,

I've successfully installed and configured 3CX v15.5 on a Azure VM. I've setup auto provisioning for a number of Yealink and Snom IP Phones (supported devices). I have a couple of analogue phones that I want to connect to my 3CX system. I have one SPA112 configured and it has successfully connected. I have a second in another area of my home. I have tried everything to get if to connect but, it fails to register. The only difference between the two SPA112 devices is the first has a hardware version of 1.1.0 and the other is 1.0.0. Everything else (i.e. firmware version, 3CX config, network settings etc.) are the same. Albeit the static IP address, extension number, ID and passwords are all different.

I followed an earlier thread that said I could use the Cisco SPA-302 config for the SPA112 so that I can enter the MAC address. This works for the first SPA112 but, not the second. I note from the Phones tab that the first SPA112 has connected to 3CX with a local IP address rather than a public IP address. I am not using VPN, SBC or STUN for either SPA112 device. I want to avoid using VPN as it adds unnecessary cost to my VM.

Unless you are lucky enough to be able to assign a public IP to each device, you will have to use STUN, or an SBC. Enabling STUN allows the device to register using the public IP of the router it sits behind. You must still give each voice device used, a unique SIP port. So if one phone, on one device uses 5060, any other device cannot, they must use another port.

Even so, depending on your router, you may have audio issues (as in lack of) unless you enable the PBX Delivers Audio option, on each extension. (last resort) This is particularly true if you make extension to extension calls at the remote location.

Thanks very much for your response. I have got PBX Delivers Audio checked. I don't have any audio issues that I've noticed so far. If I use another SIP port for the other SPA112 (e.g. 5070), how do I identify the port in 3CX? I've checked the extension record and under the Options tab there is a SIP ID (Must be unique per extension). If I use this, what do I enter into the field and where do I enter the same information in the SPA112 user interface?

The Port is under the provisioning tab of each extension.

In a SIP set, or ATA, I have never had the need to tell 3CX what signalling port (i.e. 5060) the device uses. as the device tells the PBX upon registration. In a PSTN gateway, yes.

In most cases, if a SIP ID is needed it will be the same as the extension number unless, you wish to give the device another (SIP ID) number that people can dial to reach it, such as "0" (zero). I have not seen the need for a SIP in the ATAs. Most will accept direct SIP calls sent to the (IP, and) extension number that is used on them.

Great help. Thanks.

Hi Steve,

I did have the same issue via STUN and it took me al lot of time to solve it. The spa 112 was working on v14 without any problems but after upgrade the 3CX not any more.

Can you change the following in the Cisco SPA 112.

In the SIP tab ->RTP Parameters

RTP Packet Size = 0.020

NAT Support Parameters

Handle VIA recieved = yes
Handle VIA rport = yes
Insert VIA recieved = yes
Insert VIA rport = yes

To use STUN

STUN Enable = yes
STUN server = stun.3cx.com (or any public STUN server)
EXT IP = blank

if still fail to recieve calls, pls do a hard reset of the spa 112
