Hi all!

Is there a way to specify an alternate default gateway (GW) in the 3CX Phone System Management Console? Our installation of 3CX is done on the only server in our network and the NIC is configured with a GW that corresponds to an internet connection that does not have a fixed ip.

We have another internet connection that does have a fixed ip and I would like 3CX to use that GW. In order to do so I would need to configure 3CX to disregard the GW of the NIC and instead use the alternate GW. It is not an option to change GW of the NIC.

Thanks in advance for your expertise!

Hey Peter,
You can search the forums for more details, but basically you would have to set static routes on the PC itself for the traffic you want to flow out of that static connection.

.. which would be rather tricky, depending on the trunk provider.
Indeed, you'd have to map the routes to all destinations for all your SIP and RTP traffic for your trunk provider(s).. ew. You would add them persistently, or use a batch/script to assert the routes if you want.

Not sure what this second gateway comes in on.. consider putting both WAN connections on one router.. it's better practice to do so.

All that being said.. you are describing a networking question. The answer is not in the app/service here.

you are probably better off to install the 3cx as a virtual machine ( on your current server) then you can have it setup with a virtual nic, and that will resolve your problem.
