I've search and I can't find an answer to this. I'm looking for a way to lower the volume (or even better pause) spotify when on a call. Windows has this feature built in if it detected audio communications. But the 3CX windows client doesn't seem to trigger it. Any idea why this is?

I've created a simple executable to pause spotify and I have it called when an incoming call it answered, so I'm halfway there. Is there ANY information on writing plugins for the 3CX client? I'm happy to do the coding, I just need reference material.
The other option would be a server side plugin, but I'm not trying integrate with CRM and I can't find any information on how to integrate with the server side.

Hey, we've got the same issue. When a call comes in and is answered in the 3CX Windows 10 App, Audio Playback in the Spotify App won't stop.
We are seeking for a solution here, too.

I'd love a solution as well. It won't stop, and more than that, sounds becomes awful...

This will only really be possible if 3CX program ASIO into the application, its a windows feature that allows applications to take exclusive control of the sound drivers blocking all other outputs

It just blows me away that something so simply isn't implemented.

It would be great to have an official answer on this. Generally, people do not understand why I do have a weird behaviour the first seconds before I manage to shut down Spotify...

The offical answer is to submit an idea and have people vote on it. Good luck!!! there is no windows client category and I don't have permissions (seems like most dont) to submit an idea.

Are you sure? It seems like you should tag someone @YiannisH_3CX is there a way the Windows team can look at this?

I tried my account manager, tech support and this forum. They all say submit an idea. But oops sorry you don't have permissions to do that, and I can't do it for you. Tough luck my friend.
The annoying thing is, if there was a simply plugin interface I would have the problem fixed with very little effort required!

Not to pile on, but support for the local client is scheduled to be stopped in favor of the WebRTC plugin. I stand corrected and am happy to hear that support for the client will continue. Makes convincing my employees to move to the web client a bit more difficult, but that comes with the job.

One could hope that it would be easier for 3CX to hook into the audio system (several audio apps do it already) but the dev teams needs to feel that is necessary.

A new 3CX for windows app was released. It may not be the fix , but worth a try..

Not sure how much this will help, I started down this road once and lost interest, however Spotify has an easy API that lets you stop/start playback, or even just change volume. Using Call Flow Designer you could send a web request to pause or lower volume and then the reverse when it ends. I appreciate it's a sledgehammer to crack a walnut but it might be worth a shot if all else fails.

Weird solution, but I love the fact you thought about it ! ;)
