SSL Certificate - Required?

When we updated from 16 to 18, our reseller said we needed to buy an SSL for the FQDN to allow the upgrade to work correctly. Is the SSL is required to keep 3CX up and running?

SSL has been required since V14 IIRC - some services won't work correctly if you don't have one. One example would be SMS.

So if you are using a customer FQDN then you need to also supply a SSL cert, otherwise a 3CX FQDN will automatically use LetsEncrypt certs.
