With the recent Update 8, the integration with 3CX Cloud Transcription was introduced, along with the option to enable stereo mode for recordings.
However, it appears that the stereo functionality is only available when using the 3CX Cloud Transcription engine.
My question — and one that several other users have raised in the forum — is:
Is there a way to enable stereo recording for all call recordings, independently of the 3CX transcription service?
I am not interested in using 3CX transcription. I only want the recordings themselves to be in stereo mode.
With the growing use of AI-based transcription and analysis tools, it is increasingly important to have each party recorded on a separate audio channel. This separation significantly improves post-processing accuracy and analytics quality.
Is there currently a way to achieve this, or is stereo recording strictly tied to the 3CX Cloud Transcription feature?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

At this time stereo recording is only available as part of the 3CX Transcription module.

Hello,

tks for reply.
is there any roadmap or expected timeline for the release of stereo call recordings without being tied to the transcription module?

Additionally,

I am currently on the PRO version. I enabled Stereo Mode in the transcription integration (which, in my version, only works for voicemail). However, I noticed that it enables a second channel in the recording and the file type indeed becomes stereo. The issue is that all audio remains on the same primary channel.

My question is: Do I need an ENT+ license for the audio to be properly separated into two distinct channels?
