Stoopid mistake - replace NFR with Free Standard

Hiya,

A colleague built a free phone system a few weeks ago, registered a free license but has then somehow pasted our NFR key into it, I'm not exactly sure how / why he did this and alas nor is he... Since this system is in production we wanted to swap them over to their correct license (4 sim calls is not enough) but quite rightly the system won't allow this. I can't see any way of backing up the config without the license as we lose the domain and would have to start again. It's for a charity who are still in contract with their existing provider and hence hasn't budgeted to spend the money until next financial year, the plan was to move them onto a pro subscription in July when the contract is up on their existing system and they stop making the repayments.

Is there anything that can be done in this instance. Sorry for the mistake, it's a little embarrassing if i'm honest and they know not to do it again!

Take a backup without license and spin up a free license and restore that backup. You'll need a new FQDN tho.

You cannot replace an NFR key with a free.

Thanks, it's exactly what I wanted to avoid but if that's what needs to happen then we'll get it done. Was hoping there was a magic 3cx solution to this. To be honest I'm thinking the cost and disruption simply merits us buying the license and absorbing the cost, my colleague will have to forgo Pizza Friday for the foreseeable
