Hi guys,

We want to set our outbound calls to show no caller ID. Our VOIP provider has switched on a setting on their side to allows this.

When we test, 3CX is putting the external number into the form header, which is overriding the setting on the VOIP side.

Which setting in Outbound Parameters determines setting the from header to anonymous?

Please see the attached screenshot from VOIP engineer.

Update:

The Exetel said to change the from field, which I have.

I'm still getting the same behaviour.

There's more than one From field. You need to ask Exetel which fields you need to change and change those. Often providers will read the CID from multiple fields to accommodate a variety of devices.

Hi Cobaltit,

I belive it is this part

From: "Extension Name"<sip:[email protected]:5060>;tag=f625b10b

Try changing "From: User Part" too, also, do you have any parameters below "From: Host Part" set to anything else other than "Leave Default Value"?

Hi Chris,

No luck, these are my settings.

Had to swap back to them to allow outbound calls to work.

It looks like your provider needs to see your caller ID to validate the call. They either need it in the From SIP header or a different header so you can put whatever you want in the From. They need to specify.
Also if they have enabled an option to mask your caller ID from their side you should not have to do anything from your side. Their settings should override yours.

It may not even be possible to do this with your provider as not all providers support this.
