We live up north where winters are lovely. On the old systems we used to sell we were able to program a code that people could call into the Auto Attendant and switch the greeting to be a "storm closure" message if they were going to be closed because of the weather.

I am trying to figure out if there is a simple way for end users that are not always tech savvy to do this without logging into the management side.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello @Michael Knutson

One is way to achieve this is through the Call Flow designer although this may require some programming skills depending on the requirements.

Another way to achieve this is through a dummy extension. You create a dummy extension and point your inbound rule to than extension.
The dummy extension directs the call based on the profile it is set. For example in normal days the dummy extension is set to Away and the destination of calls for the Away status is Digital receptionist A which plays the normal day prompt.
On stormy days you can set the dummy extension to DND where the call destination is Digital Receptionist B.
The dummy extensions status is easy to control and it can be done through a 3CX client which connects from home or it can be changed through the voicemail menu. So someone can call a number which connects to the voicemail service, login is as the dummy extension and use the voicemail menu to change the status.
