Hello forum,
I don't get any replies from 3cx.com, Stun.3cx.com or www.3cx.com. no address Responds to ping.
The license server also gives me an unavailability message:
---
The 3CX license activation server could not be reached. Make sure your primary DNS server can resolve activation.3cx.com.
---
I'm running out of ideas, whether the problem is with 3cx.com or in my network.
I also get no answer on external pages with ping options.

I'm happy to answer any questions.

3CX servers do not response to pings,

If you run nslookup, does it return a valid IP address.

Have you tried to change your dns servers for the 3cx server to google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Do you have any blocking setup on the firewall, that may prevent the 3cx server accessing 3cx external servers

At the weekend I put a Grandstream HT812 ATA into operation, for sending faxes over 3cx. It works. Unfortunately, the Stun e-mails are not resolved. In addition, I found that I can no longer reach the activation server either. So I checked all external channels on the 3cx server: Ping / nslookup / traceroute to different IP addresses.
All answer except the 3cx server.

Hi,

What version is your PBX and what OS is it running on?

Hi,

3cx Version 16.0.6.655 und OS ist Linux pbx 4.9.0-13-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.228-1 (2020-07-05) x86_64 GNU/Linux

der fehler, kam auch auf einmal.

STUN server stun.3cx.com : 3478 could not be reached (host name is not resolved).

thx

Regardless of the errors above, what it the actual issue you were facing?

-> HT812 is only supported as LAN or SBC provisioned - not STUN
-> We do not respond to ping on our servers, so this is normal
-> The activation server not being reachable is a sign of internet/firewall access issues or local DNS issues

my real problem
---
STUN server stun.3cx.com:3478 could not be reached (host name is not resolved). It could be that the STUN server you are using is down or a network problem is preventing STUN resolutions. This might cause problems if you use VoIP providers.
---
the answer: that there is no answer to a ping request is helpful.
The problem is: how can I test when I will reach 3cx again, because many other websites answer. So there must be special problems with 3cx.

The STUN servers will only reply to STUN requests, so this will not help you.

Perhaps I did not understand well, but the only issue I see from above is that the PBX can no longer reach the activation server (which is verified to be online and working as of this moment).

It sounds from your description that the PBX is not reaching the 3CX servers at the moment. Are you behind a firewall? Do you use geoblocking? Have you done any network troubleshooting?

Searching in the firewall and in the 3cx server ultimately led to finding the error in the firewall.
The system including the app for the mobile phone.

Thanks for your help.
