Subscription expiration 4sc

I have a long running free 4 call system, but I now see a license expiration message in the system managment console

Warning! Your Subscription will expire on 01/01/2024. Without subscription you lose access to important features. Find out more .

I saw a recent post in the product relleases forum saying -
Back in March we announced all Free subscriptions will remain FREE until 31st December 2024.

Do I have to renew something, or are these being extended again.

Use the 3CX ISO and you won't need Linux knowledge. It manages the OS and updates and the installation is a simple process.

I can kind of confirm that now, I used "rufus" to make a bootable USB drive, stuck it in and rebooted and ...

Usual battle to get to the boot menu before Windows starts, done...

It wasn't too hard to nuke the old Windows partitions, all I had to do was confirm I wanted it to use the whole disk

What do I want my root password to be ... something complicated ... I shouldn't have to tinker at root level but just in case...

What is my domain ??? well we do have a domain name so I'll use that ... seems to work?

The web based configuration tool worked.

I was hoping to see the license automatically extend once I was on the all-important V20 .. not yet

Google integration worked

Short URLs work, no need to add "webclient".

It didn't like provisioning a phone connected to a WiFi bridge.

@Oliver Broad, if the requirements are fulfilled, the free edition 4SC subscription expiry date will be extended.
As per the email notification sent to 4SC free edition subscription users, the requirements must be fulfilled before June 27, 2024.

So is there any updated information on this? I have a 4SC "free" (System info says Standard Annual) expires on July 1, 2024 and it's running 20.0 Update 1 (Build 731) on Windows which since there wasn't a clickable update I got to by taking a backup, uninstalling V18, then installing V20 and restoring the backup.

Is the requirement still there to migrate it to V20 on Linux? Last email I got just said Version 20 by July and didn't mention Windows or Linux. It's probably time for an official update on this.

OK, I don't need this answer anymore, I went ahead and bit the bullet, installed the Debian V20 in a new VM, did a backup of old and restore on new, fixed all my DNS and firewall rules to point to the new machine, and it's done. Not particularly difficult at all.

I'd still like to see the answer though, probably a few more people out there in the exact same situation.

Regarding Free users holding a 4SC Standard, please note that to keep 3CX functioning, by June 27 the system must:

• Be running V20
• On Linux
• Be activated with the correct customer's email

Just a quick heads-up about the change, after I changed I found that everyone had the "user" role and had very limited abilities, so I had to set roles. Not altogether sure which roles are right so right now everyone is a "manager"

3CX uses the concept of roles to define what a user can do and who can administer what. These rights will be limited to the departments he/she is a member of. You can check the admin guide section Access ‘Roles’ and a table with the exact rights each role has here.

Well I'm relieved to see that the renewal took place.

Regarding roles I'm not altogether sure how they map to our organisation as we're both very small and flat, and also I don't want to push at the "roles" question in case I end up with five one-person departments so I think I'll leave it alone for now.
